Mycosoft is a small software design and development shop on Vashon, WA. We build custom apps, communication systems, and internal tools for nonprofits, community organizations, and local teams.
Sometimes that means a mobile or web app. Sometimes it means a system that works over text message because that’s what people already use. We start with how an organization actually works, then build the simplest tool that fits.

Recent Work
VIGA Farm Friend, built for the Vashon Island Growers Association.
Vashon Island has a network of local farm stands that are unattended and run mostly on the honor system, so what's actually available changes frequently. The island's farm map was maintained by hand from submitted forms, which meant it often did not show up-to-date listings.
Farm Friend put the farmers back in control and eliminated busywork for the busy volunteer staff. Update can be sent by text message, in plain language. Residents can now view live, searchable data on the farm stand map or text their question and get a straight answer, including how recently each farm checked in.

Hi, I'm Max. I spent much of the last two decades working in software product roles, where I learned a lot about what makes technology genuinely useful and how much thought goes into making products that feel helpful and intuitive.
I don't believe in technology for its own sake. An app is not always the answer, but software can help lighten the load if it's built thoughtfully and with a user-centric design approach. My focus is helping small, resource-constrained organizations experience the benefits of custom software.
